Wharncliffe has been part of the Kingston farming scene for 175 years. Perched between “the mountain” (Mt Wellington) and the sea at Kingston Beach, Wharncliffe is just 10 minutes south of Hobart.
Our cool and usually benign climate is perfect for alpaca breeding. Although now on the fringes of suburbia, in its current incarnation Wharncliffe supports the alpaca stud and a boutique vineyard which produces elegant examples of cool climate wines.
