Alpacas are dependent on their mothers’ colostrum (first milk) to receive protective antibodies. If this “passive transfer” is unsuccessful there are several options open to you to ensure your cria’s survival.
“Impact” colostrum replacer is an appropriate substitute when the cria has not received the dam’s colostrum.
If a cria needs to be bottlefed subsequently, “Wombaroo” alpaca milk replacer has all the nutrients needed for healthy growth.
